About
Technology and busniess have always been a facinating concept to me. Maters in information system has made me reaslise that boh of these componenets go hand in hand in many levels. my first semester in stevens. i have leant the process on innovation, database managemen, bunsiess analystics and basics of accounting. All of hich are very usefull courses for the real world
I have graduated with a major in Economics and have always found my thought process to lean
towards economic facts. I realize that to handle data and analyze business through data, one
must embrace the theories that drive economic growth. Hence, I know the value addition my MS
program brings to my understanding of real-world concepts. IT was the other subject
to engage my interest. I first became aware of big data during my statistics courses in college
when I realized the concept of statistics could address how certain aspects will affect the
company and how concepts of statistics could be applied in modeling business risk.
Having completed the undergraduate degree, I was eager to work for a financial powerhouse.
Thus, I was thrilled to accept the opportunity to work at ‘Ayekart Fintech’ (that helps MSME get
digitally empowered) as a behavioral analyst in supply chain and distribution. I also worked on
tracing and mapping customer segmentation. Throughout my internship, I have mainly
contributed to the company’s growth. The various surveys and knowledge series written by me
were published on the company’s official website https://ayekart.com/media-publications.html
and their LinkedIn account. I am also chuffed up at the opportunity of working with my
superiors in building the company’s profile. Since the company, a start-up, is in its initial
development phase, I was entrusted with a lot more work than is commonly done by interns.
Successful completion of my duties saw me being offered a full-time position. I have worked
with immense workload and pressure as a fresher and have seen myself grow in this workspace.
Although the growth has been exponential, I yearn for more knowledge, especially to understand
the link between technology and sound managerial decisions. The last 6 months of working have
made this realization only starker.
I am mindful that to thrive in a competitive marketplace, apart from knowledge, I would need specialized skills, and I am hoping to gain the same from my master’s program.
